To Management and Staff
RTÉ All Ireland Drama Festival - Transition Year Schools Playwright Competition I hope you had a nice Hallowe'en break - a well deserved relief this year I'm sure in view of all the extra work and anxiety this pandemic has caused. It's countdown time again for the above competition, now in its 8th year thanks to schools support and encouragement to TY students so far. Our Festival committee appeal to you once again to continue to help grow this competition further. Your involvement and TY competition script contribution is much appreciated - a script writing educational link with schools of which we are proud to be a part . The goal is to have your school represented with an individual script entry - 8 to 10 pages - a one act play on the theme of 'Transition'. Your school may submit up to 5 individual script entries. We welcome your school involvement and together we are giving TYs a chance to scriptwrite in these transitioning times. Renewed thanks and every success in all you do. It would be great if you would email or text - just a short message - to let me know the number of scripts to expect. Keep safe and grateful thanks COMPETITION DETAILS SUMMARY • The competition is open to Transition Year Students only. • Write a short One Act Play on the theme of "Transition" – c2000 words not including stage directions. • Entries must be typed up and formatted as a script. • The Name of the entrant must not appear on the script. • Use an appropriate title for each entry – one that suits your own play. • The Title of the play must appear as a header on every page and page numbers in the footer. • Entry Form must be completed and submitted with each script. • Email entries to: [email protected] • Closing Date is Tuesday 22nd December, 2020.
